Faith or Why and How to negate the gods
We catch things in our own frequency. It is a shame. There is a whole universe and a universe of meanings await to be discovered.
If you think your self as a colour in the painting of the exhibition of the universe, what would you depict? What would your hue be? Which story you would tell? If you were a melody in a symphony joined by the atoms, dancing like a ballerina to the music of the Conductor, what would your dance movements be? To accept your place in the fabric of the existence, to me is related to the journey of negating the gods, and finding the meaning for ourselves.
In a previous essay I inquired whether the most important part of the journey to faith was negating the gods in our lives. One cannot deduce and invest faith in one God without the negating the rest. If you a person of faith, that means, you travelled far to the corners of the universe to investigate it all. Or, you realised how all is connected already, or how all came to your door in one simple every day living being, in the example of a fruit.

Look at your perfect orange on the dining table. It must have travelled all to reach to you as an end product. It needed water, soil, knowledge, wisdom, harmony, structure, design, connection, and power. Either each fruit is equipped with the power of knowledge of what it needs, the power over the rain, clouds, and sun to have the exact amount of sun shine and moisture, the power to control the soil not to mix it with other seeds and fight against its roots, or, all the needs reaches to it via a hidden hand that we cannot see with bare eyes.

Some long duree scholars described the soil as a factory with hundreds of machines. The soil with production machines had the sense and complexity to detect one seed from the other. So, we do not get something else from an apple seed that was sown next to an apricot. So, this means, the eco-system works in harmony as long as we humans do not intervene.
Contemplating about the nature can lead to deduce that the nature is a symphony and there is a conductor, even maybe one Conductor. After all, the melodies echo in the branches of the trees across the world. no symphonies can be in sync with more than one Conductor.
One little fruit becomes a scientific summary as if a striking scientific theory that summarises multiple layers of analysis, like E = mc2. The little fruit is a witness and product of a multi-layered connection, correlation, and series of causations. However, that does not mean coincidence. As a perfect vaccine cannot be a result of random acts, the science behind it shows the existence of a scientist, a fruit suddenly becomes a scientific discovery, a melody in a larger symphony, or a letter in a wonderfully designed sentence.
However, this conclusion may not lead to faith. It requires more intellectual toil as the journey to negate gods is long. I may agree that the little fruit has all the nature behind it to exist, and the one who designed it must be the one who has power over all: the sun, the light, the rain, the clouds, the knowledge, the wisdom… However, for a human who is young, strong, robust, and wield power why would a routine of daily life, a fruit on our plate, be an element of examination and the centre of attention?
If all the glasses I wear tells me how great I am, how powerful and influential and important what I do, so by implication, how important I am, my sense of humility will erode. When a person is healthy, robust, and have some social influence, it may not easy to remember that we have our limited time borrowed on the mercy of the One who designed all. This includes the people who think they have faith. To negate the gods around is relatively easier. Yet, to face the one inside, who confuses personal agency with the ability to create and rule all the universe, is harder.

We are the members of the eco-system, the symphony of existence, the dance of the galaxies. To think of the Designer, the Composer or the Director, does not pose limits to our abilities. On the contrary, it makes us curious about our existing yet untapped potential beyond the limits of what our eyes and ears can catch.
To claim your movements as the one and only, is cutting ties from the rest, and declaring your little nest to be the one above all. It is called, the human ego, and if it surrounds us, it is very hard to have a discerning eye that will see things as they are. If it turns into a god, the journey to explore all and see the things as they are, will come to an end.
We begin the intellectual journey at the threshold of humility. Because the ones who does not ‘know themselves’ are not really open to learn. The ones who cannot refuse and refute the gods inside, cannot connect with the One in the Books, cannot connect with the universe as it is, cannot become a harmonious melody, and claim their egos as gods even when they preach on the pulpit in our prayer halls. It is called, the human condition. Thus, refusing gods is an everyday intellectual and spiritual labour. The people of faith, thus, need to be and are the labourers of intellect.
